1. What is the guest capacity at Carroll Hall?
Carroll Hall accommodates up to 130 standing/cocktail guests or 90 seated guests for a full indoor/outdoor venue buyout.
The Hall (Indoor): Up to 90 seated / 90 standing
The Garden (Outdoor): Up to 100 seated / 130 standing
2. Where is Carroll Hall located and how do guests get there?
Carroll Hall is located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn at 2 Vandervoort Place, Brooklyn, NY 11237 (corner of Vandervoort Place and Thames Street).
Subway: 1 block from the Morgan Ave (L Train) stop and walking distance to the Flushing Ave (J/M Trains) stop.
Parking: 2 designated on-site spots for client/vendor loading, with street parking nearby.
3. What is included in a venue rental at Carroll Hall?
Every standard venue rental includes exclusive access to The Hall, The Garden, and Rose’s Room, along with dedicated on-site venue managers, security, Wi-Fi, coat racks, and our full furniture inventory.
Included Furniture: 100 white padded folding chairs, (10) 60" round tables, (15) 6-ft rectangular dining tables, (7) catering tables, (8) cocktail tables, and (2) mobile bars.
Add-On Spaces: The Treehouse and Mezzanine Lounge can be added as premium suite/lounge upgrades.
4. How much does it cost to rent Carroll Hall for an event?
Seasonal, tiered venue packages at Carroll Hall start at $5,500 for off-peak dates and start at $7,500 for peak dates, with hourly and custom multi-day rates available depending on the event type. Contact our Events Manager for a detailed quote.
5. How does food, catering, and beverage service work at Carroll Hall?
Carroll Hall is a bring-your-own-caterer venue with a prep kitchen on site with direct access to the garden. However, all alcohol and beverage packages must be provided directly through Carroll Hall under our full liquor license.
Kitchen Equipment: Commercial refrigerator, ice machine, 3-basin sink, and dishwasher.
Bar Service: Custom, curated bar packages managed by the venue.
6. Can I select my own vendors, and do I need a planner?
Yes, you are welcome to bring in any licensed third-party vendors. Carroll Hall requires a professional day-of coordinator or wedding planner to be on site for all weddings and major milestone events.
Vendor Requirements: Outside vendors must sign a venue agreement and provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI). We also offer a curated Preferred Vendor list upon request.
7. What are the sound policies and noise curfew at Carroll Hall?
Outdoor amplified music in the garden must end by 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday. Events can continue inside The Hall past these hours.
8. What happens if it rains on the day of an outdoor garden event?
Carroll Hall offers a seamless indoor/outdoor layout, allowing events to move into The Hall in the case of inclement weather. For larger outdoor events, tents can be arranged in the garden through our exclusive third-party tenting vendor at an additional fee.
9. Is Carroll Hall wheelchair and ADA accessible?
Yes. All primary indoor and outdoor public areas, including The Hall and lower Garden, are fully ground-level, wheelchair accessible, and ADA compliant. The venue includes one dedicated ADA-accessible restroom with a baby changing table (along with two standard unisex restrooms).
10. Can the Mezzanine Lounge and Treehouse be used as a wedding suite or green room?
Yes. The Mezzanine Lounge serves as our primary suite for getting ready, private pre-event toasts, or VIP green rooms. Please note, the mezzanine lounge is a shared space with our office, divided by a curtain. The garden Treehouse can be added on for intimate moments, photo shoots, or a pop-up interactive experience.

Vendors & Planning

Absolutely! While we have a wonderful list of preferred vendors familiar with our space, you are welcome to bring in your own. New vendors simply sign an agreement with Carroll Hall and provide proof of insurance. We’re happy to share our recommendations if you’d like a starting point.

Yes, we require either a professional day-of coordinator or a wedding planner to be onsite for your event. This ensures everything runs seamlessly. While Carroll Hall does not provide planning services, our team is always onsite to oversee venue operations and assist vendors.

Yes! Carroll Hall is available for multi-day rentals. Please inquire with our events manager about rehearsal options as part of your rental agreement.

Carroll Hall carries its own liquor license, which allows us to provide curated bar packages exclusively for your event.

Carroll Hall offers a kitchen prep area equipped with a large commercial refrigerator, 3-basin sink, countertops for prep, an ice machine, and a dishwasher. Everything is available for your use and for your caterer’s convenience.
Event Logistics

Your rental hours will be outlined in your contract. If you would like to extend your event hours, please connect with our events manager in advance to explore available options.

We recommend tenting the garden to ensure your event is comfortable rain or shine. Tents also provide shade on hot days! Tenting is arranged through one of our exclusive vendors and is not included in the rental price.

Your rental contract provides full details, but generally you’ll be responsible for clearing and storing trash, removing decorations, resetting tables and chairs, and leaving the space broom-clean.

Since Carroll Hall often hosts private events, we kindly ask that all visits be scheduled in advance with our Events Manager. From time to time, we also host public events—please check our events calendar for upcoming opportunities to visit.

Yes, all of our indoor and outdoor public are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.

Carroll Hall has three restrooms: two standard and one ADA-accessible restroom with a changing table. All are conveniently located on the ground floor.

Our venue is located in a residential neighborhood. To respect our neighbors, amplified music outdoors must end by 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and by 9pm on other evenings. We recommend hosting your dance party in our Warehouse, where the celebration can continue later. (If Monday is a holiday, Saturday hours apply to Sunday.)

Of course! We have specific guidelines to help preserve the beauty of Carroll Hall, and these are clearly outlined in your rental agreement. We’ll review everything with you at booking and answer any questions along the way.
Policies

For the comfort of all guests, smoking and vaping are not permitted inside Carroll Hall or in the garden. Smoking is allowed on the street, at least 15 feet from the door.

Yes, candles are welcome. If you have any specific requests, please ask our events manager.

While we love animals, we aren’t able to accommodate pets onsite. The exception is service animals, which are always welcome.

Yes! Children are welcome to attend age-appropriate events at Carroll Hall. For their safety and comfort, we ask that they be supervised by an adult at all times.

Yes! Guests are welcome to take photos with their smartphones during private events. For the comfort and privacy of all, professional equipment such as tripods, SLR cameras, video gear, or drones is not permitted unless pre-approved.
Commercial photography, professional photo or film shoots, and other creative sessions may be booked separately through our Events Manager.
Transportation

We have 2 designated spots for you or your vendors. There is limited street parking and public transportation is conveniently located.

The address is 2 Vandervoort Place, Brooklyn, NY 11237. The entrance is located on the corner of Vandervoort Place and Thames Street, one block east of Morgan Avenue.
Carroll Hall is also within walking distance of the Morgan subway stop on the L train, and the Flushing Ave stop on the J and M trains.
The B60 bus stops at Morgan & Thames which is on the same block as Carroll Hall. There is another bus two blocks away- the B57 at the Flushing and Wilson Ave stop.
